I build and untangle web applications for businesses that have outgrown whatever they started with.

I'm Hunter Bursey, founder and principal consultant at Digitera Solutions, working out of Prince George, British Columbia.

What I do

Web applications, built or rescued

Booking, inventory, scheduling, records. The software a business actually runs on. Sometimes that means building it, and often it means taking over something that already exists and has become difficult to change safely.

Reporting and dashboards

Power BI models built on top of the systems you already have, so the numbers come from one place and reconcile against each other rather than against whoever exported them last.

Data groundwork

Profiling, schema contracts, validation. The unglamorous layer that decides whether anything built on top of it can be trusted. Most reporting projects that fail, fail here first.

Who I serve

Organizations with genuine operational complexity and no in‑house software team. Charter airlines, marketplaces, fleets, municipalities, member organizations.

The person I work with is usually an owner, a general manager or an operations lead. Someone who knows exactly where the process breaks and has never had anyone available to fix it properly.

I am based in Prince George and both of my current engagements are outside British Columbia, so working remotely is the normal case rather than an exception. Local work simply means I can be in the room.

How I work

Discovery first, at a fixed price

Every engagement starts with a paid discovery phase quoted as a fixed amount. It produces a written solution design and a fixed price for the build. Nothing is open‑ended and nothing is billed by the hour against an unknown scope.

You can stop after discovery

The design document is yours either way, including if you take it to someone else. If the build isn't worth doing, I would rather tell you that at the end of discovery than halfway through it.

One point of accountability

I do the work. On larger builds I scale up with subcontractors I have worked with before, but the arrangement does not change: you hold one contract, with me, and nothing ships without my review and sign‑off. You will not be handed to an account manager or a rotating team.

Work

Charter airline

In progress

Subcontracted through a prime consultancy. Profiled six months of flight operations data across three separate business lines, pinned a schema contract against it, and built a 24‑table Power BI model with the passenger‑privacy constraint enforced in the load itself.

Vacation ownership marketplace

Ongoing

Ongoing development on a marketplace where owners list and sell their points inventory. Reservations drawn against finite inventory, with payments and customer accounts attached.

Who I am
Hunter Bursey

I'm Hunter Bursey, founder and principal consultant at Digitera Solutions. I spent three years as the primary developer on a platform serving dozens of businesses at once, which is where I learned that the hard part of software usually isn't the code, it's the decisions made before the code. The ones that are cheap to get right at the start and expensive to fix later.

Today I work with businesses that need that kind of judgement applied to their systems: applications that need to be built or rescued, data that nobody can currently trust, and the messy middle ground between the two.

I hold a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Victoria and run Digitera out of Prince George, BC.

Getting in touch

Email is best. Tell me what the operation is and where it is breaking down, and I will tell you honestly whether it is something I can help with.
